BCAMP Health PolicyIn response to recent health concerns and our desire to continue providing the best care possible for your child and family, we want to review our health and safety policies regarding illness with you. Illness/Symptoms that preclude children from attending school:
- Fever in the amount of 100.4 or greater
- Any unaccounted for rashes
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Student feeling too ill to participate in regular school activities
Basic Precautions to Prevent Contracting or Spreading the Flu:
- Wash your hands often (with soap and warm water, for 15–20 seconds)
- Keep hands away from face
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
- Stay away from infected people — and if you are sick, do not go to work or school, or places where you could infect others
- Parents should seek medical help if flu symptoms become severe
Additional specific Flu Prevention Information. The Red Cross recommends storing a two-week supply of food, water and household necessities. This will reduce the need to go out should this swine flu strain become more widespread. For the very latest reliable information regarding the H1N1 (Swine Flu) infection, visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website. If you would like to donate Clorox wipes or hand sanitizer to help keep our hard surfaces disinfected and building healthy, we will be very appreciative. Thank you. If at any time you or your child has a question about the school health and wellness policies, please do not hesitate to contact me. (Call 817-545-5437 and ask for Amy, or email me.)
