School PoliciesThese are the Operational Policies for Bedford Christian Academy & Montossori Preschool, hereinafter referred to as "BCAMP". Operating Hours: BCAMP is open 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Late pickup fees will be imposed: $10 for pick up by 6:40 p.m., $25 by 6:45 p.m., and $50 by 7:00 p.m. (Note that children with multiple late pickups may be removed from enrollment.)
We are open year round except for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Good Friday, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, BCAMP reserves the right to close on an alternate day. Absences: Please call BCAMP if your child will be absent. This is also true for children who ride our bus after public school. You must call us at least one hour prior to dismissal time if your child will not be on the bus after school. Failure to do so will result in a $10 service charge billed to your account. We must spend time calling and searching until your child is accounted for. Inclement Weather Closing: While closing due to inclement weather is extremely rare, BCAMP reserves the right to close at any time. BCAMP will follow the inclement weather policy for H.E.B. Independent School district. When in doubt, please call before leaving home. Arrival: Upon arrival, please take your child to the assigned classroom and ensure that s/he is greeted by the teacher. Children should arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. each day. Children must arrive and depart through the front door of the school only. (Example: Children cannot be delivered to the teacher while the class is on a field trip.) Pick Up: We take our responsibility for children very seriously and reserve the right to ask anyone for a photo ID before releasing a child. Anyone picking up a child from BCAMP should bring photo ID in hand — this includes parents. Children will be released only to persons whose names appear on the enrollment application.
If there are custody issues, the parent should discuss the situation with the director, as it will probably be necessary for the custodial parent to provide a legal document which defines the custody agreement. If you need someone whose name is not on the enrollment application to pick up your child, please write the information on the daily log at the front desk (include signature) when you bring the child to school that day. This allows that individual access to your child for that day only. You can also permanently add the name to the enrollment application. Naptime: Children enrolled in the preschool or pre-kindergarten programs rest every day. We ask that parents of children age 18 months and older purchase a Nap Mat for naptime. (Available in the office. $25 additional fee) Nap mats need to be laundered at home as needed and at the end of each week. Please avoid picking up your child during naptime, as it can be disruptive to the sleeping children. If you find it necessary to pick up during nap, please call the office and we will arrange to have your child ready for you in the office. Illness:BCAMP Health Policy Illness requiring pick up includes but is not limited to: fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, rash, open sores, diarrhea, vomiting, or a child who is too ill to participate in normal activities. Children who become ill at school must be picked up within 45 minutes after the parent or other authorized person is notified. Children must be fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. BCAMP reserves the right to require a doctor’s release particularly in the event of surgery, prolonged illness, or returning to school. If your child experiences a contagious illness, please notify the director. Tuition: The registration fee is $150 per family per year. Summer registration fee is $50 per child / $75 Family. The annual supply fee is $200 ($100 per semester fall/spring) per child for all children age 6 weeks – 12 years. Tuition is due in advance on Monday each week and is late after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A late fee of $5 per day will be added to your tuition for late payments.
TUITION, WHETHER PAID WEEKLY, BI-WEEKLY, OR MONTHLY IS NON-REFUNDABLE. There is no reduction in tuition due to absences or closings. If your child will be absent for one week or more, tuition is reduced by 1/2 to hold his/her spot in the classroom. Please pay tuition for those weeks in advance. In the event that your account is referred to outside collection, an additional service fee will be charged. Medications: All medicines must be signed in on the Medication Log located in the office. Do not leave medication in your child’s backpack, diaper bag, classroom, etc. Medicine must be in the original container and clearly labeled with the child’s first and last name. Medicine is dispensed according to label instructions only. This includes age and/or weight dosage instructions. BCAMP dispenses medications at 11:30 a.m. If the instructions read "once or twice daily" the medication should be given at home; three times per day = 3:30 only, 4 times per day or every 4 hours = 11:30 and 3:30. Medical Emergencies: In the unlikely event that your child requires emergency medical attention, you or your designated emergency contact person will be notified as soon as the situation allows. If a minor injury occurs at school, first aid will be administered and BCAMP staff will complete an Accident Report. The situation will be discussed with the person who picks up the child at the end of the day. S/he will be asked to sign the report so that it can be placed in the child’s file here at school. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT PARENTS KEEP CONTACT NUMBERS CURRENT AT ALL TIMES. Allergies: If your child is allergic to certain foods, insects, soaps, etc. and/or if s/he has certain medical conditions such as asthma, please provide written notification to a BCAMP manager so the information can be included in your child’s file and the teacher can be made aware. When your child moves to a new classroom, please be sure that the new teacher is also aware of the allergy. Look for the information to be posted in your child’s classroom. We must work together to ensure your child’s safety and good health. Additionally, please send food from home if your child is allergic to the lunch being served. The same policy is true for children whose religion prohibits certain foods. Please do not send peanut products to BCAMP as we are a "peanut-free" facility. Parental Notification: Please see the Parent Information Boards located in the main hallway of the school. Discipline And Guidance: We believe in a positive approach to discipline. Teaching children what to do more often than what not to do develops problem-solving skills and a generous and kind attitude while guiding them toward self-discipline. Corporal punishment, embarrassment, and shaming will never be used. Trust that we will let you know if your child’s behavior is outside acceptable boundaries. Meals: Tuition includes an a.m. snack and afternoon snacks and lunch at specified times. Exception: Sack Lunch Days on which all children bring their lunches. Copies of the school menu are located in the office. Parents may choose to provide all meals and snacks from home if notation is made on the enrollment agreement stating that BCAMP is not responsible for its nutritional content or for meeting the child’s daily food needs. Information regarding a special diet as prescribed by a doctor must be provided by the parent and included in the child’s file. Treats From Home: Due to food allergies, treats from home (such as birthday cookies or cupcakes) must be store bought and include a list of ingredients. Please do not send peanut products to BCAMP as we are a "peanut-free" facility. Immunizations: A copy of your child’s immunization record must be on file on or before the first day of enrollment. Immunizations must be current based on your child’s age. When your child receives immunizations as s/he gets older, please provide us with a copy of the updated immunizations for your child’s file. Tuberculin testing is not required for residents of Tarrant County. Note: Copies of immunization records for school age children are on file at public school and are not required to be on file at BCAMP. Hearing And Vision Screening: First time enrollees who are four years old or older and all children enrolled in programs who are four years old by September 1 of each year must undergo hearing and vision screening. Testing will be available at BCAMP (for an additional fee) throughout the year and any child who is 4 years old or older and does not have a screening report on file will be required to participate. Enrollment Procedures: Prior to your child’s enrollment, the registration packet of paperwork must be completed and returned to BCAMP with payment for the first week’s tuition. BCAMP reserves the right to refuse service to or dis-enroll a child without advance notice. Policy Changes: In the event of a change in policies at BCAMP, notices will be posted on the Parent Information board so that each parent may obtain a copy. Transportation: BCAMP transports children under the following circumstances: Field Trips, to a designated evacuation site, for emergency medical treatment, and to and/or from public school. All drivers hold a valid state driver’s license and our vehicles are properly insured. Water Activities: During the summer time, children age 12 months – 4 years may participate in water activities on the playground in splash pools and/or sprinklers. Children age 5 and older may also participate in these activities as well as swimming. See the enrollment application for permission form. Clothing: Children will enjoy a variety of activities including painting, sand play, shaving cream, and playing outside each day. Children should wear comfortable play clothes, socks and tennis shoes. Additionally, all children must have an extra set of clothes in their cubbies. All belongings, including clothing, jackets and sweaters must be labeled with the child’s first initial and last name. We are unable to replace lost or damaged articles. Personal Belongings: Personal items from home are not allowed at school. Exceptions are curriculum related items, children’s books, and/or items for Show & Tell. See the monthly Activity Calendar for Show & Tell days, etc. Lost & Found: BCAMP is not responsible for lost or broken items. However, we will do our best to help locate missing items within a day or two. Please label everything with child’s first initial and last name. Field Trips: See the monthly activity calendar for dates and times for field trips. See the Parent Notification board in the main hallway for addresses and phone numbers for field trip locations Animals: If animals are to be at BCAMP, parents will be notified via the Parent Notification board in the main hallway of the school. The animals will meet all the necessary requirements. Please see the director if you would like more information. Compliments, Questions Or Concerns: We want to know about your satisfaction, questions and concerns regarding any issue about our program, including policies and procedures. A BCAMP manager is always available to speak with you. Open Door Policy: Parents and persons listed on a child’s enrollment application may visit any time. If you need to speak with your child’s teacher, please contact a BCAMP manager so that arrangements can be made. Privacy And Confidentiality: In the interest of privacy and confidentiality, any concerns regarding children other than your own must be addressed to the director rather than the classroom teacher. BCAMP does not allow photographing or videotaping of children (this includes "camera phones"), except in the cases of "school pictures," and school events which may be photographed or videotaped by a BCAMP representative and distributed at BCAMP discretion. BCAMP reserves the right, without parental notification or consent, to photograph, videotape, or perform necessary evaluations/developmental assessments of your child(ren.)
